The Beginning

The best thing about making cards and scrapbooking is that I get to be creative and add my own touch. Inspired by others, I generally take an idea and turn it around and make it my own. I have come a long way since I first started scrapbooking back in 2003. Looking back on my very first page and comparing it to today's, I have changed dramatically. From once looking in magazines and books for ideas, it has changed to Google search or Pinterest. From using paper from all different makers, I now use kits from makers like Echo Park, Bella Blvd., and Simple Stories, just to name a few. I have been challenged to think outside the box and challenge myself. I take part in weekly sketch challenge at Scrapbook Steals which has really taught me a lot. At the end of the 10-week challenge, they have a grand prize. This certainly has kept me intrigued to keep scrapping at least once a week.

There are two other ladies that have been so supportive over the years. Since I have four children, I have always had a baby by my side and mostly nursing for the last five years. The ladies, Bianca and Naomi from Paper Heart Designs, have opened their hearts and their door in order for me to come to their classes and crops with baby in tow. I have had the unfortunate experience of being told that I could not attend classes or crops with a baby through another company, which left me with no motivation in the end. I didn't want to put scrapbooking on hold just because I had a family. Thankfully for these ladies, I didn't have to. I am very thankful for them.

I don't know how I came across Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, but I am sure glad I did. What a fun way to express your fun side with all these amazing and super cute stamps! I have met some great people along the way and now I am going to be a Suprise Krafty Guest stamper in the upcoming release in October for the Christmas line. My designs (which will be posted here) will be seen by hundreds of people! I can't wait to read what everyone thinks about my creations. It will be fun and a learning experience.

Originally, my mom was the one that introduced me to scarpbooking. She began scrapping, then showed me and I was immediately hooked. So, in the end, it is my mom whom I have to thank for the introduction into this fun, creative path.  I hope in he future, my children will appreciate all the pages I have done for them and cherish them for the rest of their lives. I hope they are passed down to generations to come.
